Two active dealers in the circles of New York arts and designs will speak on the theme, and Paradigm Art Company president Christina Heekyung Kang will moderate the event. Sandra Gering, president of Gering & López Gallery, has explored world-renowned designers like Karim Rashid and has contributed to the development of New York’s modern arts over the past 20 years. Sandra Gering will speak on her philosophy on modern arts, on how she has thus far explored and supported outstandingly talented artists, and on the prospects of New York’s modern arts. Todd Merrill, president of Todd Merrill Antique and a design collector, has sponsored design artists, has served as an advisor to major design collectors, and has endeavored to develop New York’s design community. Todd Merrill will speak on his philosophy on collections and on his book Modern Americana: From High Craft to High Glam, in the process discussing the purposes and prospects of modern design collections. Art talks like this may seem unfamiliar to the local audience, but in overseas arts communities, art talks are as popular as the art collections them-selves, and have a strong support base of collectors.
